#386: Tomato in May

David ran the Providence Marathon yesterday.
Such a feat requires the perfect reward:
A tomato picked fresh from the vine.
This skinny jack-and-the-beanstalk vine, in fact,
which grew from a branch pinched off last fall.
It has been reaching for the sun all winter.
Other tomato plants, started from seed,
also grow in the sunroom.

But this one, like David, is the star.
