#123: Lily of the Valley

There are many delights to be had on a bike ride to Sconset in May. My favorite is this:

Not the No Trespassing pole, the lilies of the valley underneath it.
I’m biking along, praying, listening to John Piper in my headphones,
when Pow! lily of the valley. What a sweet, sweet scent. Their other names are May Bells, lily constancy and, my favorite, ladder-to-heaven.
They do look ladderly, don’t they? There’s another patch in front of the new police station.
A diminutive reminder of the goodness of God on the path to justice.
