Plow then Protect

Today was a day for plowing the garden. We have an antique hand plow that works perfectly:

That’s the winter’s compost-mostly henhouse shavings-being plowed in. It’s not quite rotted down but will be fine by the time we plant. Now the front garden is ready for potatoes and the deer are scoping it out:

They have free rein all winter while the fencing is down. Then we plow. Then the fencing goes back up and the deer are on their own until next winter.
